So, how’s your holiday going so far? I’m really working on being FULLY present this holiday season. The years are flying by, and I want to savor every moment I can with these adult kids. But it isn’t easy, is it? Our natural drift is toward hurry and busyness, especially when our to-do lists seem to be getting longer by the minute. I realized today that I’m not going to get everything on my list done by the time we gather to celebrate as a family, and I’m choosing to be okay with that. All of my tasks won’t be completed, but I will choose to enjoy drinking my morning coffee (out of a Christmas mug, of course!) with the kids, as we all wear matching pajamas. I will join them in working on our Christmas puzzle and visiting by the fire. I will prepare the food, but I will invite others to join me in getting everything ready. I’ll cook most of the meals, but I’ll probably buy a few things already prepared. I’m going to choose simple whenever possible this Christmas.
We’ll put our phones in the basket on the counter…not all the time, but we’ll be intentional when we’re all together to have no-phone zones. We’ll go for walks and get outside when we can. We’ll enjoy our family traditions while staying flexible when necessary. We’ll go to our church’s Christmas service and light candles as we sing Silent Night together, remembering that God gave us the greatest gift in His Son Jesus. We’ll open presents…the ones I had time to buy…and I’ll work to be fully present for every moment. I’ll likely forget to put the timer on the oven as I make the breakfast casserole, and I’ll remember it when Mac asks what time it will be ready. I’ll work to savor every moment – to appreciate the gift of Jesus and the gift of family. I’m asking you to join me in this! We can do this, guys. We can enjoy a Merry SIMPLE Christmas, soaking up every minute with our families. What a gift this community is! We are so grateful that you’re part of this Fearless Crew, and we hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Be sure and check out the Christmas Conference Discount below.
This is what I have seen to be good and right: to eat and to drink and be happy in all the work one does under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him. For this is his reward. As for every man to whom God has given riches and many good things, He has also given him the power to eat from them, receive his reward and be happy in his work. This is the gift of God. For he will not think much about the years of his life, because God keeps him happy in his heart. Ecclesiastes 5:18-20
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:10-14

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct. Galatians 6:4-5
